Divers Cite Festival
As the greatest celebration in Montreal, Divers Cite Festival Montreal (20th edition) is an artistic, popular, modern, and avant-garde event.
Two of the festivals annual productions are renowned across borders.
Mascara is the number one drag demonstration worldwide, and La Grande Danse (the big dance), is probably the most amazing open-air house shows in both Canada and the United States.
Both are presented right here in Montreal City.
Montreal Divers Cite Festival featured the very first Montreal LGBT pride festivities during the summer of 1993.
Starting then and up until 2006, the festival was made up of three elements: the actual pride parade, the Montreal gay community event, and the arts and music festival.
As LGBT individuals have become appreciated and viewed favorably throughout the neighborhoods inside today’s modern society, Festival’s coordinating board was able to move on utilizing their own perspective and developing two different world LGBT activities for Montreal.
The first event focused on neighborhood improvement, and the second one focused on an amazing arts and music gay festival meant for the straight community as well.
This festival is extremely pleased to have created Montreal LGBT pride celebrations, which have consequently led to the actual development and strength of LGBT action.
LGBT Festival is definitely an occasion whereby the objective is always to offer an arts and music festival that demonstrates and honors the importance of plurality and a mindset that associates expression and solidarity with that of the rest of the world.
Two decades of consistent development and improvement have proven that Event is an internationally well recognized celebration.
Below are a few of the Invited Artists to the Montreal LGBT Festival.
A favorite of the festival, the dancer and choreographer Scott Fordham presents “Limitless,” a production that breaks down traditional barriers of dance choreography with an explosive solo and experimenting with the current Hip Hop, Pop, Dancehall, and Jazz-Funk.
