Montreal Mondial Beer Festival

The International Mondial Beer Festival of Montreal is the largest international beer event in America!

During 2011, the event attracted more than 100,000 visitors.

Those in attendance were in search of quality products, many of which were presented exclusively at the festival.

A gateway to the brewing industry, the Montreal combines the best of Quebec with over 600 of the world best beers.

This festival is a unique experience based on learning, tasting, sharing, and networking with both brewers and industry professionals.

Arriving from throughout the world, those known as Biertrotters©, meet up yearly in Montreal City.

This one of the many Montreal Festivals that is perfect place to satisfy all these curious beer lovers, made up of novices and connoisseurs alike!

The International Beer Festival was founded in 1994. Included in the World Beer conference in Montreal, and beginning in 2005, was the professional portion of Global Beer.

This attracted the top researchers in the brewery field, thus contributing to the event’s reputation.

Created in 2006, The Montreal Beer contest event help to develop Quebec’s expertise in the field.

Also included in the Montreal event is an educational component of particular detail.

Whether through meeting with the brewers, participating in the beer contest, or attending workshops, beer and cheese lovers have all the tools at their disposal to cultivate open mindedness, educate their palate, and quench their thirst for discovery.

The mission of the event is to give the beer its credentials by offering visitors both here and abroad the opportunity to taste a selection of quality beers, while also promoting responsible drinking.

The 19th annual Montreal Beer Festival runs from June 6 – 10 (Wednesday to Sunday), 2012 at Place Bonaventure in Montreal, from 11 am to 21 pm.

Admission is free, and any festivalgoer can access the site directly by the Bonaventure metro station.

Now almost a tradition, my good friend Luke and I have attended The Montreal Beer event now located at Place Bonaventure in Montreal for the fifth consecutive year.

A festival created for beer lovers from the vast universe of brewing, the fair continues to grow at a dizzying pace, moved by a feeling of nostalgia as much as by a ticking curiosity.

2007: A visibly excited, although sparse crowd is featured in most of my shots when having not crunched the different stands, squarely breweries, and those producers present.

2008: the populace has apparently passed the word.

With bierophiles and compact clouds on a rainy Saturday afternoon, the coupons needed to purchase tasting cups are flying in all directions …

Well, maybe not, but say that it was visible the popularity of the world had already soared over the previous year.

2009: apprehensive of the rush, we decide to browse the aisles of the train station tonight.

This year does not prevent us from crossing a long, long line of fans (some of which will turn back, as the site is packed).

Happy to have finally entered, we still spare a thought for the poor “Tourists” patiently waiting their turn outside the walls.

I had to take my shots in the late evening, finding closure in finally being able to a photograph of the kiosks.

My conclusion: the success of the Montreal Beer Festival had gone from great to extraordinary in just a few years.

The main reason: the marvelous encounters between the Quebec public, who are just discovering the wonderful potential of local and imported beer products and producers worldwide, which have always featured the best, most original, and most daring beers.

In the background, a truly global world run by an outstanding team, which managed to bring both sides into an annual event that does justice to this divine beverage.

For 2012 you will get a real VIP treatment.

  • Tasting coupons for $1 each
  • The souvenir glass for $9
  • More than 160 breweries including 31 from Province of Quebec
  • 724 products including 295 beers
  • 15 food kiosks to satisfy your hunger
  • Live brewing demonstration
  • Long live the beer tasting, and next year…
