Festival of Arts (FIMA)
Montreal International Festival of Arts (FIMA) is the largest open-air gallery in Eastern Canada.
The Art Street Gallery spans more than a kilometer on one of the most important commercial streets in Montreal City, St. Catherine Street is often closed to traffic the summer in south central.
This important Montreal Festival of fine Arts offers its visitors a unique opportunity to meet artists from all disciplines of the visual arts, along with emerging professionals and the ability to obtain a particular work directly from the artist.
The mission of FIMA’s Fine ArtsFestival is to promote access to the visual arts for everyone.
This is done by demystifying its disciplines through the organization of the largest art gallery available to Eastern Canada.
Much more than outdoor exposure, the Festival of Arts offers a rich and diverse program consisting of short film screenings, art, performance multimedia sound and images, immersive installations, live demonstrations of painting knowledge, and a series of multidisciplinary performances.
Almost 50,000 people a day come to see the Art Street Gallery each year.
Adding to that are internal thematic exhibitions, including the Living Museum of the proud world.
The homey atmosphere of FIMA creates a fertile ground for both exchanges and encounters through which the public becomes aware and learns of art.
Meanwhile, artists benefit from the direct and immediate feedback from the public.
This gives them access to a whole new audience.
The annual event is an orchestra of demystification and democratization of the visual arts major.
FIMA brings together many artists and artisans from Quebec, Ontario, Cuba, the United States and beyond.
Twenty-five hundred works with different styles and techniques will be exhibited on one kilometer of road. This will be a section dedicated exclusively to succession.
Each year, FIMA activities include a new high, organizing an evening of performance art.
These great artists will reveal their talents in Body Painting. By creating several stations, many of these artists and will unleash their creativity.
A light graffiti installation overseen by AJ Korkidakis, invites the public to experience this new technology projected live.
In addition, FIMA is pleased to present a brand new component, “My First Art Gallery,” for children less than 13 years old.
The objective of this component is to introduce children to collecting art by providing them access to an exhibition of quality and custom made for them.
“En Masse” is an initiative of collaborative drawings founded in 2009 with the intention of offering the opportunity for emerging artists to explore the collective creation. This collaboration creates inordinate works!
The public is invited to participate in the development of a collective drawing in black and white!
